About SFR

Founded in Paris on January 12, 1909, the Société Française de Radiologie (SFR) is one of France's largest and most respected medical scientific societies. From its very beginnings — rooted in the era of Marie Curie and the pioneering radiologists of the Parisian hospitals — the SFR has accompanied every milestone in diagnostic and therapeutic imaging, from glass-plate fluoroscopy to modern AI-driven radiology.
Today, the SFR unites radiologists, nuclear medicine specialists, and medical imaging professionals across France and the broader Francophone world. Its mission is to advance scientific knowledge, promote best clinical practices, support research and education, and defend patient safety across all imaging specialties.
