Objectifs
Radiomics holds the promise to convert medical images into quantitative data but risks confusion without careful implementation.
This educational poster equips radiologists with a standardized workflow for routine practice.
It also explores feasibility in various pathologies, reproducibility challenges, and integration strategies to further improve reproductibility.
It proposes in the end a roadmap for radiologists to maximize the use of radiomics.
Message à retenir
Radiomics is a powerful adjunct to visual interpretation rather than a replacement.
With a structured workflow, careful visualisation, and awareness of limitations, radiologists can truly turn pixels into pearls, revealing subtle, clinically meaningful patterns that enrich both diagnosis and teaching.
Résumé
This educational poster presents a narrative overview of radiomics workflows, illustrated with carefully selected examples from public datasets and institutional archives.
The workflow is demonstrated step by step, including image acquisition, region-of-interest segmentation, feature extraction (first-order, texture, shape per IBSI guidelines), visualisation, and interpretation.
Challenges such as variability across scanners, overfitting in small datasets, and feature reproducibility are discussed.
Visual aids including heatmaps, feature overlays, and boxplots are used to transform abstract data into tangible, clinically relevant insights.
A structured radiomic workflow under the umbrella of international guidlines can turrn pixels to pearls.
